Music Mondays: More Listener, plus adventure photos!

I can't get over my love for this band. And I figured I'd share my favorite song while I was slacking on a Makin' it Monday post. TO BE FAIR, I was running around wild and barefoot in the mountains all weekend. Do you want to see pictures? Of course you do, that was a silly question. Here's the digital records of my adventurous escapades!

I fell in love with Zoe (the dog most visible here) Also, this is Robin and Jim! The dog you can't see is named Kaiser. He's a huge German Shepard whose really the biggest baby I've ever seen. Adorable.

Everything was so beautiful and green!

We founds bear tracks. And saw snakes, and a wild turkey!
I didn't gain any proof of their existence though.

This is the gas line, that we climbed- it was so high up! you could get back to camp from here, but we took the wrong ways. (Seriously, we got so lost.)

Itty-Bitty Moth hiding in the bark!

So pretty! I can't get over how stunning and gorgeous everything was.

I used my girl scout skills to make a fire!

The horse on top is Tucker, and the one below is Dakota- they were both so awesome and beautiful.

This is Robin by the way, she's the tops!

Probably my most favorite picture of the weekend.

Our tent zipper was broken, but look at what I got to wake up to!

So, what is it about Butterflies and Poop? Seriously, we encountered swarms of butterflies around poop on several occasions. It made me wonder.

In any case, I returned home and now it's back to the routine of living. I am back in dresses which is lovely, but I'm craving the outdoors even more, I'm sensing a gratuitous amount of adventures in my future.

Finally, Frockin' Friday!

Some of you might remember this as the dress I made! I went adventuring in it with Robin (of course!) And here are some lovely and goofy photos!! I'm really proud of this dress because when I tackled it I knew nothing of dress making. I still have problems threading a sewing machine honestly... But, this dress opended so many doors for me, and led me into a whole new world which I am SO in love with! I've got so many dresses brewing, I just need to sit down and do them. Next week though, because I'm off camping!

Amherst State park is just so gosh darn pretty.

Dual action on the bows, I love bows really, in the end.

"What, me? I don't make silly faces. Nope, never."
Goofy smile and hands on hips.

NO ROBIN. I'm serious ALL THE TIME.

Anyways.

What time is it?
IT'S ADVENTURE TIME!

Then Things Thursday: Summer Bucket List!

Summer is right around the corner! I'm so exited! So for this week's post I came up with a short little bucket list for before the summer ends.

1. Go somewhere I've never been before! Georgia  and California are looking to be top of the list so far!
2. Wiggle my toes in the ocean water. I may live on the East Coast, in a state that touches the ocean, but I'm about 8 hours (!!!) away from it! It makes me a little sad. So it is my mission to get me to an ocean side beach!
3. Learn how to use all the camera's I've found! While looking for a certain controller for the SNES, I stumbled upon TWO cameras! One is a Nikon FE2 (with three different lenses!) And the other is a Ricoh Infomatic ST. I'm so exited!
4. Have a picnic under a tree (no explanation needed, right?)
5. Go camping!! (Totally doing that TOMORROW!!)
6. Start playing Piano again. Some of the residents at work have been playing the piano there and it's made me long for the days when I could actually play, so back at it go!
7. Get my Driver's License. (Eek! Well, this is more of a thing to do before my birthday, I'm turning 23...)
8. Actually get the projects I have planned out in the open! (soon!!)
9. Finish my summer reading list. My mom's been giving me other good books to read too! So much reading!
10. Last but not least, Sleep under the stars. No tent, no nothin'. Just me, and a sleeping bag and the open night sky.

There are a few more, but then not only would I not have ten, the rest are super secret! Full of plot twists and unexpected endings (which only lead to new beginnings!!)

Adventures Await! xo

Workin' Wednesday: Working on all the things!

I'd just like to take a moment and throw it out there that I really only did a Workin' Wednesday in what I assumed (and you know what they say about assuming) would be a failed attempt to keep myself motivated and creating. Golly how wrong I was! Despite having my hours hiked at work along with nermersou things going on at home- I've managed to stay more productive than ever. So, thank you all for reading and help keeping me motivated!

The sweater clip I made out of Robin's Teeth! I love them so! I'm wearing them right now, with an actual sweater, even! (:

Finished commission I did, I just wanted to show off the gold in her Halo!

Something I made for me! I also hand painted the frame, for extra nerd (awesome) points!

All of these brooches are on sale on Etsy!!

And I've never really gotten around to uploading these two, they were part of a series I've been working on for awhile now, more on them soon!

I have so many other projects I'm working on as wll, being so productive is really so exiting!

Thriftin' Tuesday!

Well, this past week has been crazy hectic, so instead of the planned how-tuesday I'm givin' you all a taste of what adventures Robin and I went on last week! Robin and I are also going camping this coming weekend! I'm so exited! Our weekend will be full of water and mountains, hiking, bee keepers and horses! The amount of stoked I am cannot be put into words. Onwards to the post!

I got the best colour-combo jumper. Ever. I have to take it in yet, but it's on my to do list!
Also, have you noticed those glasses on my face yet? because I wear them too much. They're magnifying glasses so I can put EVEN MORE detail into my drawings!
And, I didn't post it last thrift post, but I got Charade with Cary Grant and Audry Hepburn, and that being said I might make it a tradition to pick up matching floral print mugs and a Cary Grant VHS.
The container in the top right corner is a unicorn. It's perfect. It's on my dresser holding my broaches!
And the bottom right corner it the cutest little painted chip-board frame with some metal mushrooms hangin' out in there.
Last but not least, this suitcase. It makes me want to go on so many adventures. It was only four dollars! Keep a close look for it next week's how-to post!

Makin' it Monday: DIY Lucky Penny Sweater Clips

This past weekend, going on into today, was chalk full of wedding anniversaries and birthdays! My uncle's anniversary was the second and my parent's anniversary was yesterday! (Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!) Yesterday was also Emma's Birthday!! She's one of the best friends I could ever have and truly the raddest of the rad, I'm beyond stoked that we're good ol' kindred spirits- even if we live so far apart now. And it's my oldest sister's birthday today! So many exiting things! I should be eating copious amounts of cake!! Haha, love and congrats to all y'all!

So, birthdays and weddings aside, today's post really all stemmed from Robin giving me her wisdom teeth and me wanting to make sweater clips out of them. She had two whole ones and two that were split in half, cool beans to be had all around. And since I find it a little unlikely that you all have a wide array of baby/wisdom teeth laying around to make sweater clips from, we'll just go with lucky pennies! I happen to have a LARGE collection of lucky pennies that I feel weird about cashing because, well, they're lucky. So I keep them in a skull and always in my boots. Occasionally I go for long walks and leave them laying about for other people to find who need a boost of luck. Is that weird? Oh well. Onwards with the tutorial!

One.
As always, gather the ingredients!

Earing Bases (I got mine at Joann's)
Pennies, or anything you want really.
Hot glue
Necklace Chain
Wire-cutters

Two.
Plug in your glue gun. Take note, the warning on my glue gun does not say "may burn" no, no. It says "Will Burn." Take heed of these warnings dear readers, for they are so terribly true.

Two and a Half.
Cut down your earings! You don't want them poking you, that'd be just down right irritating. The earing on top is uncut, just for size comparison.

Three.
Take your shortened earing bases and carefully place the ends of your chains (which you should cut into your desired sizes prior to this! You can have as many chains as you want really, I have two for this one)  are around the point and touching the base.

Four.
Secure the chains in place with some hot glue. Be careful for your fingers! Make sure that the glue doesn't get too high up the earing, you've got to get the backs of the earrings on!

.

Five.
Pick out your pennies! I'm always so amazed at how different they all are! And I've got pennies on my hand from the 60's! It always baffles me that some things last so long and have been probably meaninglessly apart of so many different lives and discarded without thought. Golly.

Six.
Attach your chosen pennies with some hot glue.
'

Viola! You have a sweater clip that will bring you buckets of luck! Of course I didn't have a cardigan on hand because that would be too logical, but I still think it looks sweet!

And with that, I leave you!

Love and Lots of Luck xo

Finally, Frockin' Friday!

He he! ANYWAYS. I got this  cute lil' yellow dress while I was in the big ol' NYC. It's got the most darling sleeves, and it has the sweetest white flowers with navy-blue centers on, which is swell because I have some navy tights I can totally wear with it too! Yeah! And I may or may not have some newly gold-glittered Mary Janes that I can wear for shoes.... But all that aside! These were all taken by the super wonderful and lovely Robin!  I've added her Flickr and Etsy to the side bar under Oh, The places you'll go! I will lavish her with love from my blog!

SO. Here's a really awkward one first, just to remind you guys that I'm quite weird and very photo-shy. Which is something I'm really working on! One day, I promise! I do regularly make that face/hand combo, however.

I love those boots so gosh-darn much! They were an etsy find, and they fit perfectly!
Also, that backpack.
It has lasted me so through so many travels and moving hundreds of miles! I plan on it lasting me thousands more! With the month of June approaching, I have some camping planned out with Robin! I'm pretty exited! I really love the smell of the woods in the morning. Mmmmmm.
