Workin' Wednesday: Working on all the things!

I'd just like to take a moment and throw it out there that I really only did a Workin' Wednesday in what I assumed (and you know what they say about assuming) would be a failed attempt to keep myself motivated and creating. Golly how wrong I was! Despite having my hours hiked at work along with nermersou things going on at home- I've managed to stay more productive than ever. So, thank you all for reading and help keeping me motivated!

The sweater clip I made out of Robin's Teeth! I love them so! I'm wearing them right now, with an actual sweater, even! (:

Finished commission I did, I just wanted to show off the gold in her Halo!

Something I made for me! I also hand painted the frame, for extra nerd (awesome) points!

All of these brooches are on sale on Etsy!!

And I've never really gotten around to uploading these two, they were part of a series I've been working on for awhile now, more on them soon!

I have so many other projects I'm working on as wll, being so productive is really so exiting!

Workin' Wednesday: Sketchbook work galore!

I decided to finally kick my art block in the patoot and get on with some drawing!  I was telling my mom about how I was trying something new and drawing girls heads with nature entwined with the idea, and she laughed and pointed out that I do that sort of thing all the time. It's true! But I promise these are different that what I usually draw! I think....

This one is going to be finished and framed and the put up on etsy!

The cover is still unfinished, but I figure I have awhile before I fill this guy and it needs to actually be finished.

And this last one is a goofy card I made for my super swell dude.
But seriously, white chocolate is gross.

The plan is to keep up with all this drawing and try to get at least five small drawings done each week!

Working Wednesday: Necklaces, Paintings and Dresses, oh my!

Here are some snapshots of what I've been up to!

And these are paintings that I started back last year and am FINALLY going back to work on them!

Beginnings of a new project! That may or may not be a dress...

And this is my favorite cup of tea.

A little lovely embroidery

This is what I was up to yesterday when I was supposed to be working on a lot of other things! But in the end, I suppose procrastinating working on art with other art isn't all that bad. I had so much fun doing this, it was the first time I've ever done embroidery. Of course I did it free hand because I like to make things difficult on myself. I did base it on a drawing I made in my sketchbook a few months back which you can see here! I had dreams of screen printing the design, but have yet to sit down and actually figure out how to do that...

I already have another design worked out in my head, so I just need to get another hoop and some blue thread! I really should finish my next batch of jewelry first. Not only will there be more necklaces, I'll have earings, rings and even cuff-links up for sale on my etsy. I'm also working on a larger painting, and of course my story as well. With that said, I should probably get back to painting!

Sunday in the Studio

I have several tattoo commissions waiting for me to tackle them on my desk right now, but for starters here is the one I've most recently completed! It's of a Tektite from the Zelda games to be placed on the right shoulder. I'm a huge nerd, especially for the Zelda games, so when I received an email about doing such a commission, I was a little bit more than exited. I was allowed to take liberties with the design of the Tektite, and created a hybrid of the orange tektite from Legend of Zelda and Gohma (the boss version) from the same game. In any case, I had loads of fun!

Sunday in the Studio

I spend almost all my time painting, drawing and knitting. But recently I've been pretty busy and on the fly more and more with less time to spend on large paintings. I was enlightened to a lovely solution after visiting a little craft store down the road from where I live, the owner told me about how she had been  making necklaces with  images she created and sent me home with a plethora of ideas and some lovely jeweler's resin (along with a few skeins of wool and a few other delightful assortments.) These little trinkets just happen to be the result!

I still have yet to pour resin on these, but that's my plan for the coming days, and I will be sure to keep you all updated!
